Commuting is where mobile games live or die. If a game needs both thumbs and full concentration, it is useless when you are standing on a packed train hanging onto a pole. The best commute games ask for one hand and let you look up whenever you need to.

Casual tappers and gentle puzzle games win here by default. Anything you can pause mid-thought without losing progress is gold. Turn-based games are also great because you set the pace, not the game.

I keep a little rotation of these for exactly this reason. A tap game for the standing part of the ride, a turn-based RPG for when I get a seat. Switching between them keeps the trip from feeling like a chore.
