About

PocketLap started as a group chat between three friends who kept sending each other screenshots of the games they were burning through on the bus. At some point we figured we might as well write it down properly, and the site grew from there. Nothing fancy, just people who genuinely enjoy this stuff.

We focus on games you actually play with one hand or two thumbs: racers, arcades, quick adventures, the odd strategy or RPG when it clicks on a phone. Big console ports are not really our lane. If a game feels good in a five minute window at a bus stop, it belongs here.

How do we pick? Someone spots a game that looks interesting, we install it, and we sit with it for at least a few days. We only publish once we have real opinions, including the annoying parts. No game gets a free pass because it looked shiny in the store screenshots.

We pay for our own downloads and we do not take money to bump a score. If that ever changes we will say so loudly at the top of the page. Until then, everything you read here is just what we honestly thought after playing.
